Slow Progress

Repairing the Wythe

Slowly but surely, the project took shape.  The exterior layer of bricks or "wythe" was repaired and damaged bricks replaced.  The foundation was repaired and supported, and the old house was really starting to look nice!

With the foundation and exterior masonry complete, it was time to bring in the carpenter to frame up the addition and install windows and doors.

Once again, progress has been halted because of unforeseen obstacles.  An architect re-designed the basement, and the new plans were submitted for approval.

The project is currently awaiting both the end of winter and the completion of the Jo Daviess County Courthouse, which has taken the attention of the contractors.
